Happy New Year folks, first and foremost. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season wherever you were and whatever you were doing! Among my resolutions this year I want to focus on bringing this blog back to life once more. It died a death near the middle of last year after the second year in a row of close family and friend bereavements, on top of baby allergies and related troubles. I was just exhausted and ended up cutting out almost everything that wasn’t essential to survival for a good while. Things are however starting to look up and hopefully, this year will be a better one all around.
With that said I want to use this post to reaffirm my focus and mission statement. Mainly for my own sake to help me get back into the right mindset. But also for any of you interested and/or new around here and want to know what the deal is exactly.
Roleplay
The primary focus of this blog is usually roleplay of some degree. That’s mostly coming from a World of Warcraft perspective, but it’s not limited to it. A lot of the stuff delved into will work for most MMO settings to some level and perhaps even tabletop roleplay games and at some points. I might jump into something more specific to other games or tabletop games.
I’m by no means a roleplaying expert, and I’m only here giving my thoughts and opinions and experiences from my years of roleplaying as a hobby. But this is always open to interpretation and discussion. If you have something to add please feel free to get in touch, it’s always more constructive as a conversation. This will cover several of our mini-seires’ here on Meraki’s Method like; Beyond Basics, From The Ground Up and Venerable Villains.
Goldmaking
The secondary focus I often jump into is goldmaking, my second love on World of Warcraft. But you should be warned from the outset I am not a serious and dedicated gold goblin like a lot of folks out there. If you’re looking for the professional leagues and the best intensive strategies this is not the place for you. I like paying for my sub with gold and I like having some gold stashed away for things I might want when they crop up. But I don’t want to plug in hours and hours to making gold as I need those hours for roleplaying. So goldmaking over here on Meraki’s Method is going to be super casual, super laid back and focuses on a minimal effort and time approach. Other Games and Misc.
Listen, I’m a scatterbrained nutcase most of the time and while the above sections were my intended directions for this blog I don’t want to box myself into that. So just in case; this is my disclaimer. I’m a completionist and topics of that nature might crop up. Sometimes I play other games and I might talk about those. Sometimes I play The Sims and I might share some lets plays of those too. All sorts of madness could happen. Just be braced for anything.
