Getting Started with ‘Super Squirt’ Pet Levelling

Today we are going to look into the phenomenonn that is Super Squirt Pet Leveling! Bother other times we look at other random things too! Shit I Should Care about is a series of guides that don’t really fit into our usual themes of roleplay and gold making. At least not directly. What is Super Squirt?

Squirt is the name of an NPC. A little girl that is one of the Daily Pet Trainers that pops up in the Menagerie in your garrison in Warloads of Draenor. Her fight is the only one that rewards exp, I believe and it can be repeated. Normally this can get you a good handful of levels in a few fights. But when it aligns with a Pet Battle Weekly Event that experience doubles. This means you can get a pet from level 1 to level 25 in two battles which is about 3 to 5 minutes. It’s pretty quick. But it’s only for one day and the alignment only happens once or twice a year if that.

To take part in this day of pet levelling madness you are going to need a level three garrison and an unlocked Menagerie. If you don’t already have a garrison you can get one by taking the portal to Ashran from Orgrimmar. Then flying over to the Garrison flight point, and finding the start of the quest chain. It’s fairly straight forward and can be done in 30 minutes or so. You will need 2.2k Garrison resources to upgrade it to level 3 though so if you don’t have some Ogre Caches on some alts then you might want to buy a few on the AH or take a spin around WoD and pick up some treasures for the resources.

Needed Addons for Super Squirt

You are going to need two addons for this. Technically you can do this without any addons. But I promise you, you are going to want to have at least one of these. And that one is Rematch. I explore Rematch a bit deeper in the video that goes along with this article, but to summarize; Rematch allows you to save teams for certain trainers. So you can choose the team you want to use to defeat this fight and save it. So when you click on the trainer you can autoload the right team with the right moves in one click. It also allows you to make a leveling queue, and it will handle automatically swapping in your next leveling pet once the current one hits 25. This will save you so much time.

The second addon that is not vital but certainly useful is Rematch TSM Pet Values. This will add in the value of that pet under their name in your pet tab. This is just the price on your realm, and with pets that might not be the best price you can get for that pet. But this is a good benchmark for what pets might hold more value over others allowing you to pick which ones you want to prioritize levelling.

Leveling Team

Once you have your addons set up you are going to need to find a team that will work for you. You can do this by checking out Xu-Fu’s handy dandy pet battle strategy guides! On this page you can find all the team options for Squirt listed. Find one that had the levelling tag that contains pets you own at level 25 and you are good to go!

Don’t have any pets at level 25? Or find yourself lacking any of the needed teams to pull this off? Not to worry. You have options. Some of the teams, like the one I use are composed of pets that are cageable. This means you can buy and sell them on the AH. So if you have the funds you can try and buy a team already at level 25. Or you can buy them at level one and level them up yourself.

Of you are going to buy a team, do it right now, as the prices for these pets shoot up on the day itself. For obvious reasons. Don’t be Last Minute Lacy, because it is going to cost you a lot.  

Queue

Another thing you want to do before the day itself rolls around is to set up your levelling queue. Remember Rematch mentioned above. It lets you go down your list of pets and any that are not level 25 already you can right click and select ’Add to levelling queue’. It’s as simple as that. Add all the pets you want to level to your queue. You can level these pets for your own collection or for resale.

If you are leveling pets to sell make sure you check if the pet is cagable before levelling it. This means when you right click it to add it to the queue, first check and make sure you also have the ‘Put in cage’ options. Otherwise you will end up levelling pets you can’t make gold with and that’s wasting precious Super Squirt time.

Good Pets

So what happens if you don’t have a vast selection of cagable/sellable pets? You should get some as soon as possible to level. There is a ton of ways to get pets, some are drops you can farm, some you can buy from the AH. You can buy them at level one and level them up. You can even buy them cheap on higher population servers. Then level them and sell them for a bucket more on a lower population realm.

Either way if you don’t know the pets market well and this is your first rodeo then you are going to need to look at the prices and values of some pets. Thankfully, I have just the website you need to do that. On wow-pets.com you can compare realms, check the value of your own collection and do lots of other neat little things. But for now we want to look at this page. This lists all the tradeable pets, along with their source and average AH price for EU realms. Scanning this list can give you an idea of any valuable pets with manageable sources you can pick up to level!

Bonus Notes for Super Squirt

Some of the ideal teams for this are made up of pets that are cageable and sellable. So a good idea is to grab them before Squirt is active; while they are cheap. Then level them first to sell on to folks just grabbing them at the last minute on the day itself. I sold a Weeb for 30k and a Broom for 80k last cycle of Super Squirt. They normally sell for 1k and 11k respectively
