The Darkmoon Faire is in town this week. You’ll find a ton of stuff to do at the Faire from Achievements, quests, games, and rewards. Usually, more games and rewards are added every couple of patches or so as well. So first and foremost, if you really want to sink your teeth into all the Darkmoon Faire has to offer you can check our Wowheads extensive guide to the event in all it’s glory here: Wowheads Darkmoon Faire Guide. That can be a little daunting to someone new to the event or someone just looking to dip their toe in the water and see what it is all about. So below I have pulled together a quick and easy rundown of the main components of the Faire and how they can be useful to you!
Darkmoon Faire Profession Quests
Each profession has a quest and each one grants a reward of game tickets, Darkmoon Faire prize tokens and profession skills level increases. You will get one game token and five skill points for each profession quest completed. But the number of price tickets will vary. Some give three and some give four. Secondary professions; Cooking, Fishing, Archaeology, and for some reason the gathering profession; Herbalism all reward three tokens. And all other primary professions offer four prize tickets in reward.
However, some of these quests require some additional vendor bought materials. These cannot be bought at the Faire so remember to bring them with you before you go. Or if you are like me and always forget, drop a supply in the Guild Vault and use the mobile banking talent to grab them on the fly. The image on the right shows which professions need extra materials and what they are.
It’s an easy and cheap way of getting 5 skill points if you are leveling up any professions still and it can net you about 17 prize tokens as well from doing two primary professions and all three secondary ones. You will need to bring extra items for some professions as mentioned. Here is a list of what you need for those that require extras:
- Cooking: 5 Simple Flour
- Blacksmithing: Find one of the two Anvils on the isle or bring a personal one for ease.
- Archeology: 15 Fossil Archaeology Fragments
- Alchemy: 5 Moonberry Juice
- Inscription: 5 Light Parchment
- Leatherworking: 5x Coarse Thread, 10x Shiny Bauble, and 5x Blue Dye.
- Tailoring: 1x Coarse Thread, 1x Blue Dye, and 1x Red Dye.
Darkmoon Faire Achievements
You don’t get any gain from achievements beyond satisfaction, but with that said there are a ton of them for the Faire and I’m not going to go into them all too much here. However in the image on the side here you can see where you find them in your achievements log. Under World Events and Darkmoon Faire. You can find guides to help with these achievements on Youtube. Wowhead’s Full Guide (linked above) is also pretty useful.
Darkmoon Faire Collectables
You can collect a ton of things from the Darkmoon Faire. Everything from transmog gear, to mounts, pets, and toys. Literally tons of it. I have included some screencaps of the vendor lists before to give you an idea of the items and prices on offer in the slideshow below. This does not include the transmog venders, but you can find them in the middle of the Faire. You can sell these replica transmog items and the pets as well; for a nice profit. You can read Grahran’s awesome guide to getting and selling replica transmog items Here.
Darkmoon Faire Tickets Quests
You can gather extra items from running BG’s and Dungeons throughout the month and handing them in when the Faire is in town. You can collect these if you have the Adventurer’s Guide item from the vendor at the top of the Faire in your bags. But you can also buy these from the Auction House. Or, if you have no interest in using them to turn in for prize tickets you can just sell them at the Auction House. If you are selling then make sure you sell them while the Faire is in town.
If you are buying them, make sure you buy them after it’s ended for the best prices on both. Below I have included a TSM string for these items with a shopping Operation and an Auctioning operation. This string will allow you to import these items into a TSM group. It does not come with operations attached at the moment. As I am using the TSM4 Beta and I can’t export them. I will, however, update this after TSM4’s launch with included operations.
