Folks, it’s been a while. A little over a year I believe and I know I vanished without a word to say otherwise from both my blogs. I want to explain why and where I went before I catch you up on what I have planned, so if you’ll excuse me we’re going to have some Real Talk.
The Catch Up
The reason for that is hopefully understandable; last year in March my 22 year old stepsister died tragically at 25 weeks pregnant with a little boy that would have been my first nephew. It is not a fact I wish to linger on as it has no bearing on the theme of this blog but neither is it one I can shy away from. Later in the same year one of our youngest guild mates passed away after having fought cancer for over a year as well. All in all folks, as I am sure many of you can agree to, 2016 was a rough year.
That is why I have been absent and that is why my personal blog is going to remain on hiatus for a while longer yet. However I have been building up the courage and head-space to get back into this one as this one comes with less baggage. So starting this/next week this website will be active again. And hopefully improved. Here’s what you can expect to see from us in the near future:
Blog Posts
Our usual Wednesday weekly post will continue as usual and include topics about anything from roleplay to table top games and Warhammer. We’ll be bringing back our mini-series as well: Loaded Lore, Beyond the basics, From The Ground Up and Venerable Villains.
YouTube
We will also be working on adding to and building our YouTube channel (Over Here)with more guides on making gold in World of Warcraft, some add-on reviews and walk through particularly of lesser covered roleplay add-ons and our Sims Let’s Play legacies of which we’ll be adding a Not-So-Berry challenge to the mix.
Newsletter
I’m working on building a newsletter that will likely be fortnightly so you can get a little round-up of everything we’ve done on the blog in that period in case you missed anything and to share any additional news, tips and tricks.
Discord
I’m currently building a Discord server that will act as a home for any and all like minded souls where we can discuss lore, character creation, guild running, plots and arcs, other games and goldmaking at casual leisure.
Possible Streams
I’m considering the potential for some streams in the future. Now with the big kid at school, when the little one naps I can usual wrangle an hour or two over lunch time and I was thinking of using that time to create Lunch hour streams of goldmaking routines and answered questions about roleplay as was suggested by a few folks. I may also have the odd evening to add to the mix at weekends, but all in all this one is still pending farther investigation at the moment.
WANTED
I’m looking for some assistance in writing a few things. Firstly I’m looking for someone familiar with the environments and game world of Warcraft for our ‘Explore the World of Warcraft’ series. The actual writing content of this section is fairly straight forward and following a template. It requires a knowledge of the area’s and/or the ability and resources to research them. And good graphics to take good screencaps from the zones.
Secondly I am looking for someone that knows their way around roleplaying magic. This is the one big area where I don’t feel like I know what I am talking about enough to be a good example, so I’m looking for someone that knows the lore and feels confident enough in their knowledge and experience to write some guides on roleplaying magic and the lore and schools of magic behind it.
Both these posts are very small, each will require a post a month at most and nothing more. You do not need to be able to edit images or handle websites, I can cover all that side and you will of course be credited fully and publicly for your work. With that said if you think you have something to offer the website beyond these two niches, as ever please feel free to get in touch.
Until then remember to follow us on our social media platforms for updates and banter!
