Sims 4: Legacy Challenge Part 1: Introductions

In our Legacy Challenge, we meet the founder of our legacy and get her into a housing lot and ready to go. For this Let’s Play of the Sims 4 we will do doing a challenge within the game, or rather we will be doing a mixture of three challenges rolled into one. Legacy Challenge

The Legacy Challenge tasks you with creating a single founder Sim moving them in to a giant lot, and starting out in abject poverty. Your founder must build their house. Build their wealth, and ultimately bring in the second generation to continue when they die. In this challenge you play a single family for 10 full generations. With less control over how your children turn out and more challenges thrown your way. The challenge asks the very important question. “What kind of Legacy will you leave?”

The Random Legacy Challenge

The Random Legacy Challenge is a 10-generation legacy-style challenge which is defined by its randomly-generated parameters. This governs careers, types of marriage, number of children, and even more aspects of the game, that each generation must follow. No two Random Legacies are ever the same. And even the luckiest rolls are impossible to plan for more than a generation in advance; due to the fact that each new generation’s rolls are only calculated as that generation is born.

Rosebud (Rags to Riches) Challenge

Can you become a Sim-Millionaire? In Sims 4 is an achievement called ‘Rosebud’ with the following goal:‘Gain 1,000,000 Simoleons in a single household‘. That is the idea behind this challenge.

Our Cross-breed Version

For our game, we are going to make a cross-breed of all three of these challenges. Starting with a basic legacy, that is Founder Sim and playing through till we have completed ten generations of that family line. We are not going to score points for this challenge but we are going to try and hit as many of the goals as possible. To make it a little bit more challenging I am going to be mixing it in with a Rosebud challenge, so our Founder is starting off broke and the aim will be to generate a million gold for the household by the 10^th generation. We will also be introducing the Randomly rolled traits and a randomly rolled challenge for each generation just like in the Random Legacy to keep it interesting and fun.
